Privacy Policy

This policy explains how StudyHelpAI handles personal information and study data when you use studyhelpai.app. We try to collect and retain only what is needed to run, secure, measure and improve the service.

Account and billing data

Supabase provides account authentication. Account records can include your email address, authentication identifiers and account timestamps. Stripe processes purchases and subscriptions. StudyHelpAI stores the Stripe customer, checkout, payment and credit identifiers needed to verify purchases and maintain your balance, but does not intentionally store your full payment-card number.

Homework and AI requests

When you ask for AI help, the question and any image or PDF needed for that request are sent to OpenAI so the request can be processed. StudyHelpAI sends Responses API requests with store:false, which disables the Responses API's default application-state storage. OpenAI's published API data controls can still permit safety, abuse-monitoring or legally required retention, and those provider rules can change. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in.

For direct AI solves, StudyHelpAI stores operational records such as a one-way input hash, solve type, status, credit use and cost. A successful answer can be cached server-side so retries and account workflows work correctly. That answer payload becomes eligible for cleanup after 24 hours and is cleared on a later account read, so lazy cleanup can occur after the 24-hour point.

For the reviewed Sol visual workflow, StudyHelpAI stores the typed question and the extracted source-reading evidence needed to let you review what the AI read before solving. These workflow records do not currently use the same automatic 24-hour answer cleanup. StudyHelpAI does not intentionally save the original uploaded image or PDF as an application-database file.

Browser-local study data

Your notebook and flashcards are stored in this browser under your account rather than in StudyHelpAI's cloud database. Recent study history is also kept in browser storage. Signing out clears this browser's private study history and notebook; exporting the notebook first lets you keep a copy. Clearing browser data can also erase browser-local information.

Product analytics and hosting

StudyHelpAI uses PostHog for limited product analytics. Analytics can include a random browser identifier, random session identifier, page path, referring domain, campaign tags, solve type, solver type and checkout offer. Homework questions, AI answers, uploaded filenames and account email addresses are not included in product analytics.

Vercel hosts the service and, like other hosting and security providers, can process ordinary request and network metadata needed to deliver and protect the site.

Service providers and purposes

StudyHelpAI uses Supabase for account and database services, Stripe for billing, OpenAI for AI processing, Vercel for hosting and PostHog for limited product analytics. We use these providers to operate, secure, measure and improve StudyHelpAI rather than to sell homework content or student data.

Retention and your choices

Account, billing, security and transaction records are kept as needed to operate the service, maintain accurate balances, prevent abuse and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Browser-local data remains until it is cleared by the browser, by sign-out behavior described above, or by you. Provider-side retention is also subject to each provider's applicable service controls and legal obligations.

You can ask about, correct or request deletion of personal information associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and may retain records that must be kept for security, fraud prevention, accounting or legal reasons.

Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information

Please do not upload private student records, government identifiers, health information, financial information or other sensitive personal information that is not necessary to answer the study question. Only upload material that you are allowed to share.
